About the Position

Łukasiewicz – Instytut Chemii Przemysłowej im. Prof. Ignacego Mościckiego is seeking a Główny Specjalista pionu badawczego K/M in the Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic Chemistry, and Biotechnology Group with the role of Section Technology Formulations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Building and expanding the research topics of the Section.
• Determining short- and long-term directions of the Section's activities.
• Initiating, acquiring, coordinating, and overseeing R&D projects with the application of formulation technologies, including drug form production technology, research medicinal products, placebo, dietary supplements, and medical devices.
• Acquiring, maintaining, and developing staff according to the needs of research and development and implementation works, scientific research, analyses, and expertise, and effective use of human capital in the Section.
• Collaborating with the industry in project acquisition, execution, and implementation of results, and effectively acquiring contractors for services provided by the Section.
• Building project teams, including international teams, for the needs of R&D projects and effective acquisition of funding (national and international funds).
• Preparing technological assumptions and documentation, and active participation in the manufacturing process of medicinal products, products for preclinical and clinical trials (developing assumptions, preparing documentation, manufacturing).
• Preparing a literature study, state-of-the-art analysis for the needs of developing acquired and implemented projects.
• Developing technological documentation considering quality and legal requirements.
• Familiarity with laboratory devices and installations in the drug form laboratory.
• Coordinating cooperation with specialists from other departments/research groups/laboratories (including Quality Assurance Department, Pharmaceutical Analysis Laboratory, and others).
• Supervising the maintenance of the GMP system of the production background of the researched medicinal product.
• Participation in audits by the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate and external companies.

Requirements

• Degree: Doctorate in pharmaceutical, biological, chemical, or related sciences.
• Experience: At least 5 years of research and development experience related to the Section's activities, including at least 3 years of independent project management in R&D, including drug form technology and team leadership.
• Skills:
  • Experience in developing quality system documentation (procedures, technological instructions).
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice requirements, the Pharmaceutical Law, and EMA and FDA regulations.
  • Familiarity with technological devices (mixer, granulator, tablet press, capsule filler, coater, blister machine, etc.).
  • Creativity, independence, goal-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and build partnerships within the team.
  • English language proficiency enabling communication, use of specialized literature, and creation of technological documentation.
  • Meeting the qualifications for the position of Research Section Head according to the Additional Qualifications for Research Section Positions at Łukasiewicz – IChP – Łukasiewicz – Institute of Industrial Chemistry.
