About the Position
Group Accountant: financial expert in the company
Your role as Group Accountant promises exciting and challenging tasks. In Group Accounting, you will ensure that the consolidation processes run smoothly and prepare the financial statements of the various subsidiaries. In the process, you will be confronted daily with a wide variety of valuation and consolidation methods as well as balance sheet policy issues that will put your know-how and problem-solving skills to the test. Whether you join as a Junior Group Accountant and gain valuable experience or contribute and expand your expertise as a Senior Group Accountant - this position offers you numerous opportunities to advance your career.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual statements of various companies and of consolidated financial statements
- Execution of various consolidation steps
- Acting as contact persons for specialist departments and (foreign) subsidiaries
- Responsible for special topics/projects in the finance area
- Dealing with tax-related questions in cooperation with tax consultants or financial authorities
- Active involvement in the continuous optimisation of corporate financial processes
Requirements
- Academic degree in business administration or economics or a similar qualification with specialisation in finance and accounting/taxation
- Sound knowledge of HGB and IFRS
- Business fluent German and English skills
- Sound knowledge of MS Office
- Intercultural competence
- Willingness to travel
- A high level of personal responsibility and commitment
- Results orientation, flexibility and team spirit
- Deep commercial understanding
- Analytical skills and an affinity for numbers
Salary
The salary of a group accountant can vary depending on the industry, location and experience. In Germany, the average gross annual salary for this position (with a permanent position) is between 60,000 and 80,000 euros, whereby a junior group accountant naturally earns less than a senior group accountant. Additional factors such as bonuses also influence the accountant's salary, sometimes considerably.
