A global market leader in the medical devices sector is looking for a strategic Group Financial Controller to step into a newly created role. This is a high-visibility position intentionally designed with a clear, structured succession pathway to the APAC CFO seat.
About the Job
Reporting directly to the CFO, this critical, newly created leadership role will oversee financial consolidation, corporate governance, and performance management across multiple regional commercial offices. This position serves as a strategic business partner to regional division heads and country managers, driving financial discipline and consistency across the territory.
In this role, the successful candidate will steer the end-to-end regional financial consolidation process to ensure the timely delivery of compliant management and group financial reports, while providing strategic data-driven insights to optimize operational decision-making. Additionally, the manager will direct regional budgeting, planning, and forecasting cycles, drive robust working capital management, and design internal controls aligned with statutory corporate governance standards. The position also entails leading finance optimization and automation initiatives, supporting due diligence for regional investments or distributor transitions, managing external audit and tax advisory relationships, and mentoring a dedicated finance team to elevate overall corporate capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial consolidation, corporate governance, and performance management across multiple regional commercial offices.
- Serve as a strategic business partner to regional division heads and country managers.
- Ensure timely delivery of compliant management and group financial reports.
- Provide strategic data-driven insights to optimize operational decision-making.

Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive finance experience.
- Proven track record operating in senior regional leadership capacities within multi-national matrix organizations.
- Background within trading, distribution, or high-volume, inventory-heavy sectors ideally within the medical devices or life sciences arena.
- Strong technical proficiency in managing complex stock-related financial complexities.
- Bachelor's degree in accountancy, finance, or business.
- Recognized professional qualification such as a CA, CPA, or ACCA.
- Strong, hands-on consolidation expertise for multi-regional sales offices.
- Comfort working with robust enterprise resource planning (ERP) architectures.
- Exceptional emotional intelligence (EQ).
- High-level stakeholder management capabilities.
- Cultural agility to solve complex problems and navigate ambiguity smoothly across diverse teams.
