Head of Accounting and Tax ILA

Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting operations across the Spanish and Portuguese entities, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable accounting and intercompany activities.
  • Coordinate monthly and annual closings, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting, VAT and tax requirements, in coordination with external advisors and auditors.
  • Define, document and implement harmonized accounting processes and drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Support legal entity rationalization, simplification and integration projects across the region.
  • Manage, coach and develop a team of 4 to 6 accounting professionals located across Spain and Portugal.
  • Act as a key partner for local and Group Finance stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong background in operational accounting within a multi-entity and international environment.
  • Solid knowledge of Spanish accounting, VAT and tax regulations; Portugal experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience managing accounting teams during transformation phases.
  • Experience driving process harmonization, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strategic but hands-on, execution-oriented leadership style.
  • Experience working with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English. Portuguese is a plus.
