The Head of Engineering, POS Supply Chain oversees the software estate behind the physical side of Moniepoint's business: the systems that track, move, maintain, and account for millions of POS terminals in the field. This role is vital as Moniepoint expands internationally and scales device operations globally. The position involves leading the technical strategy for the domain and managing a large engineering organization in a remote, distributed environment.

Responsibilities

Owning the technical strategy and architecture for inventory and logistics tools and repair management software.
Leading an engineering organization of approximately 25 engineers, including managers, QA, SRE, and Data Engineering.
Driving platformisation of inventory and supply chain systems so operational data is visible, trustworthy, and consistent across millions of terminals.
Bridging the gap between operational practice and software systems by building operationally disciplined solutions.
Defining architecture standards, engineering processes, and quality metrics across squads to ensure reliability and data integrity.
Collaborating with business and operational stakeholders to translate operational requirements into engineering solutions.
Hiring, mentoring, and developing engineering managers and senior engineers to support team growth up to 30+ members.

Requirements

10–15 years of overall software engineering experience, with at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases.
5+ years of hands-on, production-level experience writing and shipping Java code as a practicing engineer.
At least 5 years of experience managing managers - leading an engineering organization through other engineering leaders, rather than running a single team.
Deep hands-on experience in supply chain, inventory, warehouse, or logistics software at scale.
Fintech or regulated-industry experience, with an understanding of the operational stakes of device management in a payments environment.
Strong backend engineering skills for data-intensive, distributed, operational systems.
Proven system design ability at large scale, managing hundreds of thousands of devices or more.
Experience managing and developing large engineering teams of 20 or more members.
Excellent stakeholder management, translating complex technical concepts for non-technical leaders.
A product-minded approach to solving operational problems with engineering solutions.

60-minute High-level System Design round with one of our Engineering Managers.
60-minute Panel Interview with 2 of our Head of Engineering leaders, 30 minutes focused on a technical deep dive into your CV and into a project/system you built in the past. 30 minutes will be focused on testing for leadership attributes.
60-minute Stakeholder Management Round with one of our Product Heads/VPs, focused on your stakeholder management, collaboration skills with product/business.
60-minute Technical round and Culture fit interview with our Co-founder & Group CTO (the hiring manager).
