Job description
Head of Facility Management Europe (m/w/d) in Sevenum (Nähe Venlo)
- Vollzeit
- Remote Type: Facility Management
About the Position
We are seeking a Head of Facility Management Europe to lead our diverse European real estate and logistics portfolio, ensuring effective governance and continuous improvement.
About the Role
As Head of Facility Management Europe, you will take on the strategic leadership, management, and continuous development of Facility Management (FM) for our diverse European real estate and logistics portfolio.
Your area of responsibility includes three large logistics distribution centers, three smaller warehouse locations, a large headquarters building, and around eight other office locations in Europe.
Additionally, you will have overarching leadership responsibility for the Technical Engineering department, which is responsible for the maintenance of our conveyor and automation systems. This department operates independently and is managed on a day-to-day basis by a Head of Technical Engineering who reports directly to you.
The position is strategic, leadership-oriented, and focused on governance. It is expressly not an operational hands-on role or a position where in-depth technical specialization is the focus.
Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of a forward-looking European Facility Management strategy, aligned with company growth, operational resilience, and cost efficiency, promoting long-term value creation and sustainability.
- Overall responsibility for a diverse international Facility Management portfolio, consisting of logistics locations, warehouses, headquarters, and various office locations. You will ensure effective governance, compliance, and continuous operability through strong leadership-instead of operational hands-on activities.
- Leadership and development of a decentralized, cross-country Facility Management organization. You will establish strong leadership structures, clear responsibilities, and promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Strategic steering and support of the Technical Engineering leadership team to ensure clear alignment, prioritization, and organizational effectiveness, without requiring in-depth technical specialization.
- Overall responsibility and management of an extensive budget. You will ensure financial transparency and be responsible for performance management, supplier strategy, and long-term investment planning in the areas of CAPEX and OPEX.
- Establishment of scalable governance structures, KPIs, reporting structures, and management systems. Simultaneously, you will act as a senior business partner for Operations, Logistics, HR, Finance, and the Executive Leadership Team across Europe.
Requirements
- More than 10 years of professional experience in international Facility Management, ideally in logistics, warehousing, or an industrial environment.
- Proven experience in strategic leadership positions in Facility Management.
- Experience in managing large, cross-country portfolios.
- Proven experience in managing budgets in the multi-million euro range.
