Head of System Administration

About the Position

Smart Solutions is an international HR provider with offices in Europe and Central Asia, and our main office is in Kyiv. Our projects know no borders. Over 15 years, we have built a successful and well-known brand among the HR community.

We are looking for a Head of System Administration to manage the entire direction: from building and developing IT infrastructure to leading distributed teams in several countries.

Responsibilities

• Strategic and operational management of the infrastructure department.
• Leading teams including infrastructure administrators, support administrators, and outsourced support teams in countries of presence.
• Building, developing, and modernizing the company's IT infrastructure (servers, networks, cloud and local resources, stability, resilience, security).
• Establishing and standardizing support processes and infrastructure operations in different countries.
• Coordinating external (outsourced) teams: task assignment, SLA and quality control, vendor management.
• Planning resources, budget, and development of the direction considering business growth.
• Employee development: hiring, onboarding, goal setting, evaluation.

Requirements

• Proven experience in building IT infrastructure from scratch and/or its development/modernization.
• Experience in managing teams and individual employees both on staff and distributed/outsourced.
• Deep expertise in infrastructure areas: server infrastructure, networks, virtualization, cloud services, backup, monitoring, information security.
• Experience in organizing and controlling support services (first/second line, SLA, processes).
• English language (Upper Intermediate level) for working with teams and partners in different countries under international expansion.
• Strong managerial and communication skills, ability to build processes and structure from scratch.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in an international/multilingual environment and managing teams in multiple countries.
• Experience in managing contractors and outsourced service providers.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., in cloud platforms, ITIL, information security).
• Experience in scaling infrastructure during company expansion into new markets.
