Head of the investigations department

About the Position

hromadske is growing and launching a new investigative journalism department. We are looking for the head of the department (author) to join the team.

Our ideal candidate shares our values and wants to work with us to uncover war crimes and help reduce the level of corruption in Ukraine.

Responsibilities

• Searching for exclusive topics, conducting journalistic investigations in the field of war crimes and post-war reconstruction of Ukraine (compensation for property damaged/destroyed as a result of Russian aggression, etc.);
• Hiring the team (journalists, researcher, director, producer);
• Active use of search and analysis of information from open sources (OSINT);
• Development of a network of information resources;
• Interaction with the team and development of joint products;
• Understanding and compliance with hromadske editorial standards.

Requirements

• Experience in conducting journalistic investigations (at least 3 years);
• Working with video content, creative visualization skills will be an advantage;
• Ability to conduct fact-checking;
• Compliance with deadlines;
• Ability to quickly and qualitatively analyze large amounts of information;
• Fluency in the Ukrainian language, literacy;
• Proficiency in English at the B2-B1 level will be an advantage.

Work Conditions

• Work schedule: full time, 5/2;
• Location: Kyiv, Ukraine (office-based with possible partial remote work);
