About the Position
The Health & Safety Inspector ensures a safe and compliant work environment by identifying and mitigating occupational risks, conducting inspections, delivering specialized training, and coordinating both safety and environmental protection activities. This role is vital in maintaining compliance with legal regulations, company policies, and industry standards while fostering a proactive safety culture across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Identify and assess workplace accident risks
- Prepare risk identification sheets for medical check-ups
- Conduct workplace inspections and implement preventive measures
- Provide specialized training and verify skills
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance
- Install safety indicators and monitor PPE usage
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Update Prevention and Protection Plans and develop safety instructions
- Develop Emergency Situations documents and maintain records
- Update evacuation plans and ensure alarm system functioning
- Issue permits for open fire work and monitor compliance
- Organize and participate in evacuation drills and internal controls
- Coordinate environmental activities and ensure compliance
- Prepare documentation for environmental permits and agreements
- Monitor environmental factors and waste management activities
Requirements
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Intermediate level of computer literacy
- University diploma
- Completion of an SSM Inspector course (80 hours)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong presentation abilities
