HK Network Security Engineer (Firewall)

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Firewall Engineer to support one of our clients – a well-established European investment bank, to support network security initiatives, including firewall design, implementation, and project delivery. This role is critical in ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient network infrastructure within a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the trading applications of Equities & Derivatives Trading (Stocks, ETF, Warrants, Options & Futures) on various APAC markets in Windows/Linux platform.
• Support traders, troubleshoot, and diagnose functional and technical issues in the production environment.
• Management and tracking of daily production problems and user requests; ensure effective and timely resolution and communication to the client; report bugs back to local/overseas development teams.
• Be responsible for handling business-driven or exchange-driven projects.
• Conduct system Quality Assurance testing, perform deployment or upgrade of mission-critical trading applications and systems.
• Ensure adequate performance and operation of the systems - monitor the performance/operation, diagnose, and address any problems.
• Follow ITIL Application Support methodology to carry out incident escalation and system change management procedures.
• Provide system and process documentation.
• Morning/Lunch shift duty, weekend, and holiday work are required.
• Enhance the automation and resilience of production systems to improve operational efficiency and uptime.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 - 8 years of experience in network security, with a strong focus on firewall technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate) in both design and/or implementation.
• Proven experience in firewall deployment projects within enterprise environments.
• Fortinet certification (NSE4 or above) is required.
• Good understanding of network security principles, including VPNs, NAT, IPS, and threat prevention.
• Experience working in banking or financial services environments is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
