Job description

About the Position

⚽️ We’re on a mission to change the football transfer market.

TransferRoom is a hyper-growth B2B SaaS SportsTech company and the only digital marketplace in the world focusing on the global football industry. We empower football clubs, agents, and players to be successful in the transfer market by providing real-time market intelligence and direct access to a global network of decision-makers.

TransferRoom has become a must-have for key stakeholders in football’s transfer market. It’s used by 800+ clubs, including Man City, Liverpool, and Juventus, 550 trusted agencies, and 8000 professional players. It has facilitated over 9,500+ transfers since its launch in 2017.

We’re looking for an HR Operations Manager to join our mission to transform the football transfer market for the better. This is a hands-on, full-ownership role - you’ll be the person behind the systems, data, and processes that keep our People function running smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • HR Systems & Data: Own and administer HiBob end-to-end - configuration, data integrity, reporting, and integrations with payroll, benefits, and TeamTailor. Build the dashboards and reports on headcount, turnover, and other People KPIs and continuously evaluate our HR tech stack.
  • Compliance & Policy: Own UK and multi-country employment compliance, keeping us aligned with local labor law as we expand. Maintain the employee handbook and HR policies, manage right-to-work checks and visa submissions, lead contractor set-up in new jurisdictions, and own employee records management and data privacy compliance.
  • Employee Lifecycle: Manage onboarding and offboarding processes end-to-end, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience, and support performance management cycles with logistics, tooling, and data.
  • Payroll & Benefits: Partner with Finance to run accurate, on-time payroll, coordinate benefits administration, open enrollment, and vendor relationships, and be the first port of call when people have questions on pay, benefits, or policy.
  • Automation & Process Improvement: Bring an AI-first mindset - build automated, scalable solutions, rather than waiting for tooling to catch up.
  • Projects & Manager Support: Lead or support wider HR projects, and act as a go-to resource for managers on policy application and best practice.

Requirements

  • Must have:

    • 5-8 years in HR/People Operations, ideally in a scaling tech or SaaS business
    • Hands-on HRIS experience (HiBob or similar), comfortable owning a system end-to-end
    • A strong working knowledge of UK employment law
    • Confident with data - comfortable building reports and dashboards, not just pulling numbers on request
    • High attention to detail and comfort handling sensitive, confidential information
    • Experience coordinating payroll with Finance
  • Nice to have:

    • Exposure to multi-country employment and contractor compliance
    • Track record of using AI tools to build real automation (e.g., scripting, workflow tools, or system integrations that removed manual work)

We Offer

  • Employee assistance programme
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Life insurance
  • Critical illness
  • Auto-enrolment pension with Hargreaves Lansdown, enhanced when you contribute through salary sacrifice, with a further savings boost from our employer top-up
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Learning budget for everyone
  • Discounted gym membership via Hussle
  • A generous employee Referral Bonus scheme
  • Team building days and events
  • Cycle-to-work scheme and an annual travel season ticket loan
  • ‘Matched Giving’ programme where we donate when our employees donate
  • We are a unique combination of a scale up with security

About the Company

We are a fast scaling, category-creating company with smart teammates who love what they do. With a unique combination as a scale up with security, we have an 86% Employee Satisfaction Score, a Likelihood to Recommend score of 8.3, and a score of 8.8 for how our colleagues rate their relationships with their coworkers.

Location

Our London office is at Bankside, with additional tech hubs in Poland and Ukraine. Our office is naturally social, especially Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays when we have regular team drinks, celebrations, and five-a-side football.

TransferRoomTransferRoom is a hyper-growth B2B SaaS Marketplace on a mission to change the football transfer market for the better. We do this by empowering football clubs, agents and players to be successful in the transfer market by giving them real-time market intelligence and direct access to a global network of decision-makers.TransferRoom is market leading and has become a must have for key stakeholders in football’s transfer market. It’s used by 800+ clubs, including Man City, Liverpool and PSG, 550+ agencies and 8000 professional players. It has empowered clubs and agents to facilitate over 6500 transfers since launch in 2017.Our StoryIn 2016, Jonas Ankersen started intensive market research and was meeting sporting directors from football clubs across Europe to discuss their challenges in the transfer market. It became apparent that the key issue in the transfer market was the lack of transparency and access to credible market information. There was very often no direct line of communication between decision-makers. Buying clubs had no reliable intelligence about which players were available, while selling clubs lacked information about which player profiles the buying clubs were seeking. When selling a player you want to appeal to as many potential buyers as possible, and when buying you want to be exposed to as many relevant options as possible. This is in essence what TransferRoom is about: more market access and more transparency.Online marketplaces have transformed most industries and made them more efficient. For years football clubs had restricted access to the transfer market. TransferRoom is now changing this.Digitizing football’s transfer marketTransferRoom is taking football’s transfer market into the digital age and making football transfers easy.TransferRoom is a community exclusively for the key stakeholders in the football transfer system. We empower our customers to be successful in the transfer market by giving them instant access to the best market information and a second-to-none network of global connections. Our Development TeamWe have a diverse, growing Development team at TransferRoom. The atmosphere of our team is really important to us, we support each other with daily stand-ups and keep in contact throughout the working day via Slack.Learning is really important to us at TransferRoom. Everyone is given support to develop skills and each of us has access to a personal learning budget to spend on our professional development.Being a team is really important. Before the war we organised regular team building trips, giving everyone the opportunity to meet outside of work in settings outside of our normal working environment. Our previous team building trips include Barcelona and Sharm El- Skeikh. While all of this is on hold given the conflict, it is one of the first things we will organise once the war is over.Supporting UkraineTransferRoom stands fully united behind our Ukraine team in the face of the Russian invasion of the country. We were shocked along with the rest of the world with the speed of the events last February and with the scale of the conflict since then.We no longer allow customers from Russia or Belarus onto our platform. We have donated to various organizations since the war began totalling over £35,000 GBP in donations to date from big humanitarian aid organizations to smaller grassroots organizations that we know are doing great work.Ukraine is and will always be our destination of choice for technical talent.www.linkedin.com/... 4dxvNXxSrir4ktArgDD_qLTkoRecruitment processWe run a streamlined recruitment process.Stage One — Recruiter screen.
