About the Position
Humanitarian Mine Action (EOD) Team Leader
We are looking for a dedicated Humanitarian Mine Action (EOD) Team Leader to join our team in Aleppo, Syria. This role involves managing and supervising mine action activities to ensure safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Plan and monitor team members' leave and manage their welfare.
- Manage team members' performance and conduct written performance reviews.
- Monitor and record team members' attendance and ensure adherence to work schedules.
- Supervise all activities of the assigned team, ensuring tasks are carried out safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate and liaise with relevant local authorities, community leaders, and stakeholders.
- Conduct planning, preparation, and reconnaissance of future task sites.
- Ensure the team has the necessary materials and equipment for designated activities.
- Operate DRC vehicles during operational hours and adhere to driving rules and requirements.
- Conduct regular Quality Management (QA and QC) to maintain operational standards.
- Ensure team members uphold high standards of discipline and professional conduct.
- Report any non-conformities, breaches of SOPs, disciplinary issues, or unauthorized absences.
- Conduct training and provide assistance and support in training DRC and local partner staff.
- Ensure team members perform regular equipment maintenance.
- Conduct an inventory audit to verify equipment and schedule timely orders.
- Coordinate and organize team movements and ensure all safety and access permissions are valid.
- Supervise all EOD/MMC/BAC activities of the team in accordance with the work plan.
- Ensure the safe storage, transport, and handling of explosive items.
- Conduct daily meeting/safety brief with the team members.
- Review EOD/MMC/BAC operational procedures and recommend improvements.
- Take the lead in EOD/MMC/BAC presentations and visitor briefings.
- Complete required reports and submit them to the Technical Field Manager.
- Conduct any other tasks as directed by managers.
Requirements
- Minimum IMAS EOD Level 2 from a recognized international training establishment.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in managing six or more personnel.
- Valid manual driving license (Category A) with the ability to operate a 4x4 vehicle in the field.
- Physically fit.
- Good skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- High School Diploma (minimum).
- Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing in English and Arabic.

- Contract length: 12 months (Extension based on performance and funds)
- Level: Management G
- Location: Aleppo (with country-wide travel)
- Expected Start date: Mid July 2026
