About the Position
When the cloud goes down, everything must keep running. Whether it's a power plant or a clinic, critical systems and sensitive data must remain operational. The solution is Hybrid Cloud: critical systems and sensitive data stay in your own data center, while everything else runs in the cloud.
What You Will Do
What It's About
A power plant operator controlling the electricity supply of a region. A clinic where networked medical devices provide patient data. Nothing can fail just because the internet connection is shaky or a cloud service is disrupted. At the same time, manufacturers and operators want to use the advantages of the cloud, such as evaluations, remote maintenance, AI, and software updates.
What You Will Do
- Build a Mini-Scenario: You will build a small hybrid solution as a prototype, for example, for a clinic with networked medical devices or an energy provider. Part runs in your own data center, part in the cloud, for example, with Azure Arc or Azure Local.
- Test the Connection: What happens if the connection to the cloud is lost? You will test whether the system continues to run, whether data is lost, and how everything synchronizes again after the disruption.
- Decide What Goes Where: Which data is allowed in the cloud, which must stay in-house, and why? Patient data is treated differently than consumption or grid data. You translate guidelines from regulation and security into concrete architectural rules.
- Compare Industries: What distinguishes a hybrid architecture for the clinic from one for the energy provider? You will show where solutions can be transferred and where each industry needs its own approach.
- Plan the Path to the Cloud: Using a realistic example system, you will compare different migration paths, from "everything stays in-house" to "cloud first," and show effort, risks, and benefits.
- Develop a Blueprint: At the end, you will have a reference architecture with clear recommendations that we can reuse in customer projects.
We will determine the focus together: depending on whether energy or medical technology appeals to you more.
