Business Assurance in Japan consists of 2 main service lines, i.e. Management System Certification and Training.
The Lead Auditor – IATF is responsible for achieving growth in sales through new business development, leading the delivery of projects, and ensuring service excellence to clients. This position helps clients to improve the quality and safety of their business performance through the application of internationally recognized standards. This position reports to the Quality Manager.
Responsibilities
- Conduct 3rd party audits for IATF 16949 and other management system certification audits in line with DNV Philosophy
- Provide timely and accurate reviews of customer corrective action and closure
- Document and report audit activities and results
- Interact directly with clients at all levels of management in developing timely, complete, and accurate reports of their current level of compliance or implementation of their management system
- Generate leads & opportunities for IATF 16949 Scheme and across services and pass on to sales
- Maintain schedule of audit activity with customers
- Maintain appropriate auditor credentials / qualifications and pursue advancement of those credentials and other related credentials as needed
- Support operations by proactive scheme qualification and NACE Code competence approvals to enable faster scheduling of audits / training
- Contribute to the growth and development of a world-class, industry-leading auditing team
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- 6 years full-time appropriate practical experience in the automotive industry (OEM, Tier 1, Tier 2) including 2 years dedicated to Quality Assurance activities within the last 10 years
- Successful completion of the common IATF 16949 sanctioned auditor examination
- Hold valid IATF 16949 certification credentials
- Fluency in Japanese-with advanced competence in reading, writing, speaking-is required for this position
- Knowledge of certification process and standards with relation to planning (required number of man-days and audit frequency, incl. multi-site sampling)
- Effective communication skills in English and Japanese
- Ability to work in a team, delivering and leading teams to produce high-quality deliverables on time and in budget
- Ability to lead multiple projects in parallel, often with conflicting demands and timelines
- Able to clearly delegate tasks and provide sufficient guidance, support, and feedback on performance in a constructive manner to Management
- Willingness to travel and work around Japan and other locations
