About the Position

INGENIERO DE SOLUCIONES RED COMERCIAL

MISIÓN DEL PUESTO

MAPFRE is seeking a skilled Software Engineer specializing in commercial operations and network support for both internal and external commercial networks. You will be responsible for designing solutions aligned with the platform's architecture standards and technically overseeing their implementation, maintenance, and evolution.

You should have functional knowledge of the insurance sales cycle and practical knowledge of Python and Java microservices, API integration, and event-driven architectures on Confluent Kafka. You should also be able to diagnose end-to-end application and infrastructure issues and use AI-assisted software engineering tools to accelerate analysis, development, testing, documentation, and operation, always maintaining responsibility for the design, quality, security, maintainability, and validation of the solutions.

DEPENDENCIA JERÁRQUICA Y FUNCIONAL

You will be part of the IT Business Solutions, playing a strategic role in the technological and functional evolution of the organization's commercial capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Liderazgo e Impulso de Iniciativas

  • Lead assigned initiatives to ensure the correct definition and execution of requirements, with a focus on integrating commercial channels, evolving the sales cycle, and ensuring functional and technical coherence of solutions.

• Gestión de Proveedores

  • Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring that implemented solutions follow defined architecture standards and patterns, especially in the use of APIs, BFF/BFP, microservices, and synchronous and asynchronous integration models.

• Seguimiento y Control de Iniciativas

  • Coordinate the follow-up of initiatives, ensuring compliance with the roadmap and proper management of dependencies between commercial systems, CRM, channel products, platforms, and portal evolution.

• Diseño y Arquitectura Técnica

  • Be responsible for designing and technically ensuring assigned solutions, applying the standards, patterns, and reference architectures defined by the organization.

Technical Design and Architecture

• Design Channel APIs and specific BFF/BFP per channel.

• Design and evolve microservices developed in Python and Java.

• Integrate commercial systems such as SGC, CRM, PGO, and SCA.

• Design synchronous integrations via APIs and asynchronous integrations via events.

• Apply patterns of decoupling, reuse, resilience, security, observability, and traceability.

• Progressively evolve legacy solutions towards the target architecture.

• Support the evolution of commercial processes supported on platforms like Appian.

• Supervisión Técnica

  • Review solutions developed by internal teams and vendors, verifying their alignment with the approved design and architecture standards, development, security, quality, and operation. You will have the ability to review code, API and event contracts, error handling, technical tests, and observability mechanisms, without necessarily assuming full development of the solution.

• Troubleshooting y Diagnóstico End-to-End

  • Participate in the analysis and resolution of complex incidents, using logs, metrics, traces, and monitoring tools to identify the root cause and determine if the problem lies in the application, APIs, events, data, configuration, network, or infrastructure. Coordinate the diagnosis with specialized teams until the incident is resolved or correctly referred.

• Documentación Técnica

  • Be responsible for documenting solutions through architecture diagrams, component responsibilities, API and event contracts, data and integration models, end-to-end flows, architectural decisions, and security, observability, deployment, and operation requirements.

• Gestión del Backlog

  • Define and prioritize the backlog aligned with the evolution of the commercial model and the digitalization of the network, ensuring the correct implementation of capabilities in APIs, microservices, events, and decoupled frontends.

• Certificación de Soluciones

  • Functionally and technically validate implemented solutions, verifying the correct integration between systems, compliance with business requirements, and alignment with architecture, security, quality, performance, resilience, traceability, and operability criteria.

• Optimización y Mejora Continua

  • Identify opportunities for improvement in commercial processes and their technological support, especially in simplifying integrations, evolving legacy solutions, automating engineering tasks, and improving the network experience.

• Evangelización Técnica y Funcional

  • Promote the use of Channel APIs, BFF/BFP as a decoupling pattern, microservices, event-driven architectures, common integration models, and observability practices, facilitating the digitalization of the channel and the evolution of the mediator portal and network tools.

• Soporte Experto

  • Support teams in designing APIs, building BFF/BFP and microservices, defining events, integrating CRM, commercial systems, and channels, evolving portals, and resolving complex technical issues.

Requirements

Lenguajes y Frameworks Backend

• Practical knowledge of Python and Java and their main frameworks for building APIs, microservices, and integrations in distributed environments. Ability to understand and review implementations, analyze code, identify technical problems, and validate their alignment with the platform's development standards. Experience in Django and frameworks used in existing legacy environments is valued.

Arquitecturas de Microservicios y Sistemas Distribuidos

• Practical knowledge of microservices design, defining responsibilities and contracts, synchronous and asynchronous communication, error management, resilience, idempotency, observability, traceability, and data consistency. Ability to participate in the progressive modernization of legacy solutions towards decoupled architectures.

Arquitecturas Orientadas a Eventos y Confluent Kafka

• Knowledge of designing event-driven solutions on Apache Kafka and Confluent, including producers, consumers, topics, partitions, distribution keys, consumer groups, event schemas and contracts, retries, error management, idempotency, traceability, and monitoring. Ability to determine when to use synchronous integration via APIs and when to use asynchronous integration via events.

API Canal

• Definition, design, and consumption of channel-oriented services, ensuring decoupling between commercial systems and frontends and compliance with security, versioning, error handling, and traceability standards.

BFF / BFP (Backend for Frontend / Platform)

• Design of specific channel adaptation layers that allow decoupling the user experience from backend systems, avoiding the undue incorporation of business logic and promoting the reuse of platform capabilities.

Cloud, Infraestructura y Operación

• Knowledge of AWS/Azure environments and hybrid architectures, containers, Kubernetes, networks, load balancing, configuration, management of secrets and certificates, deployment, and observability. Ability to understand the infrastructure on which solutions run and collaborate with specialized teams in diagnosing incidents.

Bases de Datos Relacionales y NoSQL

• Knowledge of SQL and MongoDB, data modeling, and data access from microservices, performance fundamentals, transactions, and the relationship between persistence, APIs, and events, especially in commercial systems and opportunity platforms.

DevOps, CI/CD y Calidad de Software

• Knowledge of code repositories, branch strategies, integration and deployment pipelines, quality analysis, dependency management, automated testing, and promotion between environments. Ability to interpret build or deployment failures and collaborate in their resolution.

Observabilidad y Gestión Técnica del Servicio

• Knowledge of logs, metrics, distributed traces, request and event correlation, monitoring and alerting dashboards. Ability to define the observability requirements of a solution and use the available information to analyze performance, availability, and errors.

Ingeniería de Software Asistida por Inteligencia Artificial

• Experience in using AI assistants and agents applied to repository analysis, technical design, code generation and modification, test creation, documentation, incident resolution, and automation of engineering tasks. Ability to provide the appropriate context, break down tasks, define acceptance criteria, review generated results, and ensure compliance with architecture, security, quality, and maintainability standards.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of BPM platforms, especially Appian, in the context of evolving commercial processes like SCA.
• Experience in legacy MAPFRE technologies and environments such as GAIA, MAPFRE V2, ARQOS, or other existing systems in the ecosystem.
