We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in the Grand Est region, focusing on the development and optimization of mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Main Missions

• Design and Modeling

  • Development of mechanical parts and systems in compliance with specifications
  • Use of CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo) to design prototypes and perform simulations

• Mechanical Studies and Calculations

  • Perform material resistance calculations (RDM), dynamics, and thermal calculations to ensure the robustness of designs
  • Simulate mechanical performance and optimize structures to improve reliability and reduce costs

• Industrialization and Manufacturing Follow-up

  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure the feasibility of designs
  • Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, welding, etc.)

• Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Research new solutions to optimize the performance of mechanical systems (weight reduction, aerodynamics improvement, energy optimization)
  • Integration of new technologies, particularly in relation to electrification and energy transition

• Regulatory and Quality Monitoring

  • Compliance with current standards (railway, energy, environmental)
  • Validation of designs through mechanical tests and trials to ensure product safety and compliance

Requirements

Education / Experience

• Graduated from an engineering school or holder of a Master's degree (Bac+5) in Industrial Engineering

• Minimum 3 years of experience ideally in the Energy or Railway Sectors

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD) for designing mechanical parts and assemblies
• 3D modeling and creation of technical plans with functional dimensioning (GD&T)
• Fluid dynamics calculations (CFD)
• Mastery of product development methodologies (APQP, AMDEC, Six Sigma)

• Rigor and Precision: Essential for designing reliable systems, respecting tolerances, and ensuring the safety of equipment
• Analytical Mind and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify critical points in a design and propose innovative and effective solutions
• Creativity and Innovation: Constant search for improvements, performance optimization, and integration of new technologies
• Teamwork and Communication: Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, automation, materials, production). Ability to explain technical choices and exchange with suppliers and clients

• Professional proficiency in English
