Description of the Position

To strengthen its defense division, the ALTEN agency in Rennes is recruiting a specialized engineer in Structure Calculation:

• Provide technical expertise during the pre-sales phases (understanding the client's needs), developing the technical response in collaboration with the Project Direction and the Sales Direction.
• Act as a technical expert on specialized missions (client site projects, result-driven projects managed by Alten, etc.)
  • Supervise the Calculation team at Alten
  • Acquire and disseminate methods
  • Validate deliverables
• Work on the capitalization of skills and the development of knowledge within the business community (Notes, Training, and Tools), in contact with the specialists of the Alten Group.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise during the pre-sales phases.

• Supervise the Calculation team at Alten.
• Acquire and disseminate methods.
• Validate deliverables.
• Work on the capitalization of skills and the development of knowledge within the business community.

Requirements

Education / Experience

• Graduated from an engineering school or holder of a Master's degree (Bac+5).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of structure calculations with significant experience in the Naval sector (hull, deck panels, framing).

Technical Skills:

• Solid experience in calculation (Static/Fatigue/Dynamic), analytical and numerical.
• Implementation of loading cases for platform movements in normal and fatigue situations (Quasi-static).
• Implementation of shock loading cases (half-sine and quasi-static).
• FEA modeling under NX Nastran and SimCenter environment:
  • Hypothesis formulation
  • Meshing under SimCenter
  • Data entry
  • Analysis in NX Nastran and Post-processing
• Technical writing.
