Description of the Position

To strengthen its Defense division, the ALTEN group's competencies and practices division is recruiting a mechanical engineer specialized in the Naval domain, under the responsibility of the Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Participate in pre-sales phases by analyzing client needs and developing technical responses in collaboration with the Project Management and Sales Departments
• Act as a technical expert on specialized missions (client-site projects, performance-based projects managed by ALTEN)
• Supervise and support the ALTEN Design Team
• Ensure the transmission of methods and best practices
• Contribute to the capitalization of skills and the development of knowledge within the industry community

Requirements

Education / Experience

• Graduated from an engineering school or holding a Master's degree (Bac +5) in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in design and 3D modeling applied to naval structures (barges, frigates, submarines, etc.)

Technical Skills

• In-depth knowledge of naval structures (keel, strength deck, bulkhead, deck beams, etc.)
• Proficiency in CAD and PLM tools, with a preference for CATIA V6 and 3Dx
• Specifications, expected performances, and current standards
• Structural technologies (profiles, panels, machined parts, bolted and welded assemblies)
• Creation of plans (drawing rules, functional dimensioning, assembly logic) and nomenclatures

Personal Qualities

• Ability to structure business lines, capitalize, and share knowledge
• Aptitude for training, coaching, and mentoring
• Interest in the automation and optimization of processes
• Curiosity and active monitoring of new technologies and sector challenges

Languages and Mobility

• Proficiency in written and spoken English required
• Mobility: Required travel to Lorient for meetings and professional events
