Institutional Research Associate II Job at Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY
Syracuse University is seeking an Institutional Research Associate II to join the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. This role is integral to supporting data-informed decision-making across the University. The position requires regular in-person presence on campus to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the academic environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior staff to support stakeholders in identifying research needs and defining research questions.
- Lead and manage small- and medium-sized research projects.
- Execute research projects, including surveys and analysis of institutional records.
- Clean, structure, and analyze data to identify trends and generate actionable insights.
- Communicate research findings to non-technical audiences through reports, presentations, and dashboards.
- Leverage AI tools to optimize workflow and enhance productivity.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a social or behavioral science field (e.g., Psychology, Sociology, Education). Postgraduate study is preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in social or behavioral science research. 3+ years in institutional research in a university setting is strongly preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in descriptive and inferential statistical analysis.
- Experience with qualitative research and analysis is a plus.
- Proficiency in merging data across disparate sources.
- Proficiency in a statistical programming language (e.g., R) for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.
- Ability to communicate research findings to non-technical audiences.
- Experience with dashboarding software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is strongly preferred.
- Experience with survey design and administration is strongly preferred.
- Experience querying relational databases is preferred.
- Experience with or openness to leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance productivity is preferred.
