Job description

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Instrument/Electric Section Head to lead and manage all electrical and instrumentation systems in our plant. This role serves as the frontline technical leader responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of all electrical and instrumentation (E&I) systems across the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead E&I maintenance planning and execution - spanning preventive, predictive, and corrective activities for electrical and instrumentation systems - to secure peak equipment performance, eliminate unnecessary downtime, and ensure continuous plant availability.
  • Architect and govern the maintenance and calibration of process control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA) and field instruments, ensuring precision, reliability, and sustained alignment with operational and process optimization targets.
  • Oversee and steward the plant's electrical distribution systems - safeguarding medium and low voltage power supply reliability, backup system readiness, and full conformance to applicable electrical safety standards (IEC, NFPA).
  • Inspire, develop, and empower the E&I craftsmen teams to build deep technical capability, elevate performance standards, and instill clear accountability across all maintenance roles and rotating shifts.
  • Architect E&I spare parts strategies that guarantee critical material availability, streamline inventory levels, and strengthen alignment with procurement processes to prevent operational disruption.
  • Uphold full compliance with electrical safety, regulatory, and quality standards across all E&I maintenance activities - rigorously enforcing LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out) protocols, conducting risk assessments for high-risk electrical work, and leading safety talks and toolbox meetings to fortify a zero-accident culture within the E&I team.
  • Harness CMMS capabilities (SAP PM) to enforce work order integrity, calibration schedules, instrument loop documentation, and comprehensive E&I maintenance history as the bedrock of data-driven decision making and performance reporting.
  • Catalyze electrical energy efficiency initiatives - monitoring and optimizing power factor, reducing electrical energy consumption, and implementing targeted improvements aligned with the plant's energy management objectives and corporate sustainability goals.
  • Govern E&I improvement and modification projects - coordinating external contractors, managing critical technical documentation (single-line diagrams, P&ID, loop diagrams), and ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration with Production, HSE, and Procurement to harmonize priorities, swiftly resolve urgent E&I issues, and sustain seamless plant operations.
