In Asia Pacific, ING offers wholesale banking across 11 markets, namely Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
Function Overview
Transaction Services (“TS”) is one the products/ businesses under Wholesale Banking which offers Trade Finance, Working Capital/Supply Chain Finance solutions, Payments & Cash Management and Liquidity & pooling solutions to corporate and FI clients across the ING franchise. This product line has been identified as key to the future growth of the ING Wholesale banking business.
ING is looking to expand its Transaction Services business in Asia. TS provides a challenging professional environment within ING Wholesale Banking, in a growing business serving clients in an international environment.
Responsibilities
As part of TS APAC’s growth strategy, the intern will support the team in the following areas:
- Conduct sector-specific research in Hong Kong to identify emerging trends requiring trade finance solutions (e.g. Infrastructure-as-a-Service in data centre outsourcing, renewable energy projects with deferred payment terms).
- Analyze FDI trends, trade flows, and MNC activity across EMEA/US–Greater China corridors to assess business potential.
- Deep dive into TS Hong Kong’s financial performance by country, sector, and product type to identify gaps and growth opportunities.
- Perform data scrubbing and analysis to uncover untapped TS opportunities within the existing client portfolio, as well as across the Europe–Greater China trade corridors.
- Support TS sales teams in advising on complex transactions.
- Prepare marketing and pitch materials showcasing Greater China TS capabilities for internal and external use.
- Assist the TS Head of Greater China with deal-specific assignments and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Legal work rights in the country of internship
- Major in Finance/accounting streams
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Sufficient knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Good time management and adaptability

This is a six-month full-time Internship position starting from July 2026.
