About the Job

We are seeking qualified experts to join an international project focused on development cooperation involving China and the European Union. Candidates should have 10+ years of experience in the field of China’s engagement with the Global South.

Place of posting: Beijing, China.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: University degree at Master’s level in International Development, International Relations, Public Policy, Development Studies, or International Cooperation and Development, or any other related discipline.
• Language: High proficiency in English (oral and written).
• Skills: Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
• Experience: Proven experience in project management, or technical assistance in areas such as international development, international relations, economic cooperation, or related fields.
• Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a diverse, multidisciplinary team.

Professional Experience

• Required: Significant post-graduate professional experience in relevant areas such as international development, international relations, economic cooperation, public policy, project management, or related fields involving cross-border collaboration, development assistance, or multilateral initiatives, requiring at least 10 years of experience.
• Valued: Experience in sector-specific topics such as climate change, global health, food security, or development financing.
• Highly Valued: Experience with projects or research related to China’s international development cooperation. Experience working in or with China and/or European institutions is considered an asset. Familiarity with EU procedures is desirable.

Additional Assets

• Language: Knowledge of Chinese language is an asset.
• Experience: Previous experience in China, with Chinese development actors, or in collaboration with European organisations in international development cooperation is highly valued.
