About the Position
Internship – Cross-Dimensional Work Areas
The OSCE – the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe – is the world’s largest regional security organization. The OSCE promotes co-operation amongst participating States, fosters public-private partnerships, and engages civil society to strengthen comprehensive security responses. Reflecting the growing importance of cross-dimensional approaches, the OSCE Secretariat is looking for qualified candidates to carry out internships for 2–6-month periods in programmatic areas within the Cross-Dimensional Work Areas.
Responsibilities
Interns can expect to perform a variety of tasks, including:
- Drafting research papers, policy reports, concept papers, and other written materials
- Assisting in project management and implementation
- Conducting thematic research and assisting with the revision of legal documents
- Supporting communication-related events and outreach activities
- Supporting the organization of events, meetings, and conferences
- Attending meetings of the OSCE decision-making bodies and drafting official records
- Supporting daily operational work in administrative departments
- Assisting senior managers in preparing for trips and meetings
Requirements
- Not older than 30 years
- Completed two years of full-time post-secondary education or graduated within two years
- Education in a relevant field (e.g., international relations, law, human rights)
- Professional fluency in English (oral and written)
- High motivation, open-mindedness, and flexibility
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations
- Awareness of the importance of integrating a gender perspective
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
Nice to Have
- Previous work experience in a relevant field
- Experience in a multilateral/multicultural environment
- Organizational, multi-tasking, and analytical skills
- Research and drafting skills
- Working knowledge of at least one other language from the OSCE region
