About the Role

Immerse yourself in a small startup for 6 months, full-time. We'll pay $25/hr.

We look for interns who want to punch above their weight and level up fast. That means you'll be working on projects you're probably not qualified for, surrounded by smart people. If that sounds fun, read on.

We have a strong bend towards hiring founders and founder-types. Experience doesn't matter as much as drive and grit.

Responsibilities

• Scout Founders. Find cool businesses that we can help fund.
• Plan investor events. Organize events where investors meet and fund companies in person.
• Coach founders. Help founders run their Community Round - from strategy to execution.
• Support our customers. Help investors and founders through email and phone support.
• Tell founder stories. Create compelling content about founders through video and text.
• Host dinners. Invite cool founders and investors to our weekly dinners and fireside chats.
• QA the product. Test our website, find bugs, and help make the experience better.
• Government filings. Prepare regulatory filings. Doesn't sound like it, but we'll make it fun.

Requirements

• Bay Area based You live in the Bay Area or can move here for the duration of your internship. We're in the office together just about every day.
• Founder mindset You tackle hard problems on your own and proactively look for ways to improve things. In other words: you can just figure it out.
• Learn fast Securities regulations are complex and things change fast around here. You need to absorb and retain a lot of facts quickly.
• Organized and detail-oriented No balls get dropped when you're juggling multiple projects and stakeholders.
• Strong people skills You have a talent for making people feel instantly comfortable, heard, and understood.
• Responsible & accountable If you say you will do it, you do it.

We're the Robinhood for pre-IPO startups. We allow everyone to invest $100 in a startup they love.

Over the past five years, we've helped fund over 900 startups with $500m – including flying cars, space rockets, breweries, Hollywood studios, and potential Ebola cures.

We’re now doubling the size of our team to handle the growth. Trying to keep up!

Location & Culture

We're strong believers in an in-person culture. Our HQ is in San Francisco - we have two offices, one in the Mission and one in Seacliff with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

We're a small team of ~30 that hires carefully. In this new AI world, one star can outcompete 10 average people. We'd rather stay lean, move fast, and spend our time building - not navigating big-company bureaucracy.

We're tight-knit enough to spend 10 days on a train together without killing each other. Four times over the years, we've all taken the Amtrak coast to coast, stopping in 12 cities. We're a team of doers and thinkers who are insatiably curious - not just about work, but about kickboxing, mountaineering, chess, and everything in between.
