About the Position
IPA Ops Engineer
ING Singapore is seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Ops Engineer to join our Financial Markets technology team. You will be part of global squads located in Amsterdam, Brussels, Bucharest, Singapore, and India, playing a key role in supporting and evolving the Competitive Pricing area within ING Financial Markets.
Competitive Pricing, part of the FM> Tribe, offers a dynamic and innovative environment for Operations Engineers who enjoy solving complex technical and functional challenges. You will work closely with business users, engineers, and other squads to provide end-to-end support across multiple Financial Markets customer journeys.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support for the IPA Data Analytics and Reporting platform, ensuring reliable service delivery during Asia trading hours.
- Take ownership of production incidents, coordinating resolution activities and stakeholder communication to minimize business impact.
- Drive effective problem management by identifying recurring issues, implementing preventive measures, and collaborating with the Product Owner to prioritize improvements through the squad backlog.
- Contribute to the continuous enhancement of the platform with a strong focus on reliability, performance, security, and operational excellence.
- Drive automation and AI-assisted operational improvements to enhance platform reliability, efficiency, and observability.
- Support testing, release, and deployment activities to ensure safe and stable delivery of changes into production.
- Maintain and continuously improve operational runbooks, knowledge articles, and user guidance documentation to support platform onboarding.
- Collaborate closely with Trading, Risk, Infrastructure teams, and other squads to resolve complex issues and continuously improve platform stability and user experience.
- Participate in a shared global standby rotation (typically one week per month), contributing to the reliability and continuity of business-critical services.
- As part of a cross-border Squad, work in an Agile/Scrum way, on the backlog prioritized by a Product Owner, and demo your features/stories to other colleagues and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience:
- Experience supporting Google Cloud technology stack and data analytics platforms, preferably within Trading or Risk Management domains.
- Affinity with Financial Markets products such as Rates & Credits, Fixed Income, Repos, FX, and Money Markets is a plus.
- Skills:
- Solid understanding of, and hands-on experience with, ITIL processes (ITIL certification would be considered a plus).
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills, with experience troubleshooting performance, reliability, and data quality issues in cloud-native analytics platforms.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and ELK/Kibana.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and iterative delivery practices.
- Affinity with IT Risk (SOx, vulnerability management) and Security concepts (protocols, certificates, etc).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive, collaborative, and able to work effectively in a multicultural Agile environment.
