About the Position
Vodafone Україна, a world-class company leading in technology and telecommunications, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated IPS/IDS Administrator to join our innovative team in Kyiv, Ukraine. This role is crucial for implementing, managing, and optimizing IPS/IDS solutions to protect the company's critical assets and information. It requires a deep understanding of network security, strong analytical skills, and the ability to stay ahead of emerging cyber threats.
Responsibilities
- Deployment and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain IPS/IDS solutions to ensure comprehensive network protection.
- Policy Implementation: Implement and manage security policies, rules, and signatures to enhance vulnerability detection capabilities.
- Network Traffic Monitoring: Monitor network traffic for suspicious activities and security events using IPS/IDS tools.
- Incident Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of security alerts and incidents to identify and respond to potential threats.
- Incident Response Planning: Develop and execute incident response plans in collaboration with the cybersecurity team.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and recommend strategies for resolution.
- System Tuning: Regularly tune the IPS/IDS system to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy.
- Threat Research: Continuously study new threats and adjust security measures accordingly.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams and security services to integrate IPS/IDS solutions with other security controls.
- System Administration: Collaborate with system administrators to ensure seamless operation of network security measures.
- Documentation: Maintain documentation on IPS/IDS configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Reporting: Compile reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and overall system performance.
Requirements
- Higher technical education in IT, information security, telecommunications, or related fields.
- Certifications such as CCNA (+ Security).
- Proven experience in network security systems or a similar role for at least 2 years.
- Deep understanding of network protocols.
- Experience with IPS/IDS tools and technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to technical staff.
- Team player with strong collaboration skills.
- Practical experience in administering various operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Knowledge of Ukrainian legislation on information security (Laws of Ukraine "On Information", "On the Protection of Personal Data") and international standards and methodologies in information security (ISO/IEC 27001, NIST).
Nice to Have
- Practical experience with network equipment (modems, routers, switches, hubs) and security systems (Cisco, IBM, Trend Micro, CheckPoint).
- Experience with protocols/services/systems such as VPN, DMZ, Radius, NAT, DHCP, VLAN, DNS.
- English language proficiency at the Intermediate level.
