Java Back-End Developer (Microservices / Cloud Native)

We are looking for a Java Back-End Developer to join our team of professionals developing cloud native and microservices solutions for the Public Administration's digital transformation. You will work on impactful technological challenges and develop software solutions that support the Public Administration in its digital transformation journey.

Responsibilities

Your activities will include:

• Collaborating with the team to ensure application security (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT).
• Designing and developing microservices based on Java (version 17 LTS or higher) and Red Hat Quarkus.
• Creating and maintaining REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Documenting OpenAPI for REST interfaces, defining clear contracts and facilitating automatic documentation generation.
• Implementing design patterns and best practices of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), with a focus on bounded contexts and domain entity modeling.
• Using and managing containers (Docker) and orchestrators (Kubernetes).
• Integrating asynchronous solutions using Apache Kafka, enabling event-driven architectures and real-time data flows.
• Managing the entire software lifecycle, from versioning (GIT) to build (Maven, Gradle), to testing (JUnit).
• Configuring and monitoring cloud native environments using observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).

Requirements

In addition to curiosity and a desire to explore new technologies, we are looking for someone with solid skills and the following key characteristics:

• At least 5 years of experience in Java back-end development and microservices projects.
• Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (bachelor's or master's), or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Java 17 or higher and familiarity with IDEs such as Eclipse or IntelliJ IDEA.
• Experience with microservices architectures (preferably Red Hat Quarkus, alternatively Spring Boot).
• SQL and knowledge of relational databases (at least one between MySQL or PostgreSQL).
• Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Proficiency in Maven or Gradle for project management.
• Good knowledge of GIT (preferably experience with GitLab and GitLab-Flow).
• Ability to use persistence frameworks (e.g., JPA, Hibernate).
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Proficiency in creating and documenting REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) and tools like Apache Kafka.
• Preferred knowledge of Event Sourcing and CQRS principles.
• Experience (even minimal) with JUnit for testing.
• Use of Linux systems in production environments.
• Familiarity with monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana) and logging (ELK Stack) solutions.
• Understanding of communication protocols (HTTP, WebSocket, gRPC).
• Knowledge of main application security protocols (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT).

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of BI and integration tools (e.g., Pentaho, Jasper Studio, Apache Hop).
• Certifications in Cloud, DevOps, or Data Engineering.
• Aptitude for problem solving and experimentation with new technologies.
• Excellent teamworking and communication skills with colleagues, collaborating effectively with DevOps, QA, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Flexibility and proactivity in quickly learning new technologies and solutions.
• Focus on code quality and maintainability of solutions.
