Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and maintain backend services that power business-critical applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape technical directions and roll out meaningful features
- Convert business and technical needs into clean, long-lasting, and scalable source code
- Contribute actively across the entire software development lifecycle, from early planning and design to release and ongoing maintenance
- Provide input during architectural conversations and propose improvements to existing systems and technical approaches
- Take part in peer code reviews to maintain elevated coding standards and encourage knowledge sharing within the team
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a comparable area of study
- At least 2 years of professional hands-on experience in backend software engineering
- Confident command of Java 8/11/17+ for building reliable and maintainable server-side applications
- Working experience with Spring Boot for developing modern, production-ready microservices
- Practical use of Spring Cloud Stream for creating event-driven microservice solutions
- Strong grasp of Apache Kafka, including topics, partitions, and consumer groups
- Solid awareness of event-driven architectures (EDA) and the underlying principles of microservices design
- Direct experience with distributed systems and scenarios that require high concurrency
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English (B2+ level or above)
Nice to Have
- Exposure to WebFlux and reactive programming for producing non-blocking, high-throughput applications
- Practical understanding of RabbitMQ or ActiveMQ for messaging and asynchronous data exchange
- Applied background with Kubernetes or OpenShift for container orchestration and deployment tasks
- Familiarity with Jenkins for building and supporting CI/CD pipelines
- Proficient use of Git for version control and shared code management
- Hands-on experience with SonarQube for continuous inspection of code quality
- Previous background in the banking or finance sector to contribute industry-specific knowledge
