About the Position
We are seeking a Java Backend Developer to join our remote team, focusing on modernizing enterprise Java systems.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Spring-based services and integrations.
- Write integration and unit tests as a first-class part of delivery.
- Participate in modernization work: strangler patterns, API facades, data migration.
- Document services and contribute to shared engineering practices.
Requirements
- Proven commercial experience in the role's core technology stack.
- Solid understanding of software design, testing, and code review culture.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English with clients and distributed teams.
- A pragmatic, ownership-driven approach to delivery - you flag risks early.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with US-based B2B clients.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development workflows and code review tooling.
- Contributions to architecture decisions, RFCs, or technical documentation.
