About the Position
Matrix Eastern Europe, the offshore division of Matrix IT, one of the leading global R&D services companies with more than 11,000 professionals, is looking for a Java Developer to join one of our teams.
We are seeking a Mid-Level Java Developer to join our client’s Mortgage Modernization unit. This full-time role is part of a key financial transformation initiative, offering the opportunity to work within a modern, cloud-based microservices environment.
As part of a collaborative development team, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of backend services, support production systems, and work closely with senior engineers and architects to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java-based backend services within a microservices architecture.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and service integrations.
- Support production systems through debugging, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and architects on technical design and improvements.
- Work with SQL databases and ensure efficient data interaction and performance.
- Participate in CI/CD pipeline development and deployment processes.
- Contribute to Agile development cycles alongside cross-functional teams (R&D, QA, DevOps, Product).
Requirements
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in Java development within a team environment
- Minimum **2 Years **of Practical experience with SQL/relational databases
- Minimum **2 Years **of Working knowledge of microservices-based architecture
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and client–server communication
- Minimum **2 Years **of Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
- Minimum 1 Year of Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito)
- Minimum **3 Years of **Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA
- Good English communication skills (spoken and written)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
