About the Position
dotcode is looking for an experienced Java Developer with strong practical knowledge of AWS to strengthen our team.
We are an IT outsourcing company that works with various clients, projects, and domains. This position is not tied to a single specific project - you will be part of the dotcode team and join different projects based on their current needs.
The main focus of the role is Java and Spring Boot, but good knowledge of AWS is essential for you to not only understand applications, their configuration, build/deployment processes, logs, and potential issues but also to work with the infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance the backend of applications in Java (Spring Boot) for various dotcode projects;
- Work with AWS infrastructure and maintain the stability of production environments;
- Configure, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines;
- Ensure stable deployment of applications in development, staging, and production environments;
- Work with Java (Spring Boot) applications at the build, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting levels;
- Monitor system performance and respond to production incidents;
- Assist development teams in resolving infrastructure and application-level issues;
- Improve reliability, monitoring, and deployment processes;
Requirements
- Practical experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC);
- Commercial experience in Java and Spring Boot development;
- Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions;
- Understanding of the Maven build lifecycle and its integration with CI/CD;
- Experience with Docker and Docker Compose;
- Practical experience with PostgreSQL: reliability, backups, basic troubleshooting;
- Ability to quickly dive into a new project and work with different teams;
- English language - Intermediate+.
Nice to Have
- Practical experience with blue-green or rolling deployment strategies;
- Understanding of AWS cost optimization principles;
- Experience with production incidents and participation in post-mortem analysis;
- Understanding and practical application of zero-downtime deployment principles;
- Basic understanding of networking: VPC, subnets, security groups, load balancers.
