About the Position
Java Engineer - Payments and Settlement Services @ING Hubs Romania
We are looking for a Java Engineer to join our team in Bucharest or Cluj-Napoca, Romania, to work on multi-year projects aimed at upgrading systems for Payments and Settlement Services.
Responsibilities
- Work on user stories and coding/unit testing.
- Ensure IT Risk requirements are met.
- Collaborate with teams across different locations.
- Participate in Scrum rituals.
- Coordinate activities for user story delivery.
- Demo to user groups/teams.
- End-to-end ownership of user stories from analysis to release and support.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of Java development (Java 17 and Java 21).
- Mandatory:
- Experience in SCRUM and agile methodologies.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience with TDD and BDD.
- Some experience with XML, XSL, XSD.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., AzDO).
- Experience/knowledge of Java frameworks – Spring, Spring Boot.
- Understanding/exposure to Kafka.
- Nice to have:
- Experience with PL/SQL and relational database development.
- Experience/knowledge of Java frameworks – Camel.
- Experience with containerization platforms – OpenShift, Kubernetes.
- Project experience in financial market group treasury.
- Languages: English (advanced).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in an IT-related field is nice to have.
