Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

We are seeking a Java Software Engineer - Calypso to join our team in Singapore. This role focuses on the development and maintenance of Capital Market IT applications, specifically on the Calypso back-office package. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of business operations, timing of activities, and data flowing through internal and external systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build Management: Develop in JAVA for Calypso v14.4 package. Develop internal components. Manage incidents and requests from business users and other IT teams.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Analysis and Documentation: Analyze enhancement requests and bug-fixes. Document deliveries.
  • Change Management: Apply monthly release strategy, following the team's milestones for analysis, coding, and testing. Support the release roadmap in production.
  • Operations Management: Provide application support at level 3 (expert). Troubleshoot and fix issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement process improvements. Coach more junior team members as required. Research, design, and develop software.

Requirements

Must Have

  • Experience: 3-6 years of relevant working experience.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Excellent understanding of Java, PL/SQL & Linux.
    • Experience on Calypso versions higher than v13.
    • Hands-on experience in Calypso Back-office functionality with customizations of different Calypso modules.
    • Knowledge of Confirmations, Settlement, Position, and Accounting modules.
    • Understanding of financial assets (repos, bonds, SLB, issuances) and trade lifecycle.
    • Experience with regulatory reporting HRF, NORIA, MMSR.
    • Experience ideally in interfacing Calypso with external systems.
    • Hands-on experience in implementation projects.
    • AGILE track record.
    • Experience in GIT, MasterDeploy, SVN, JENKINS, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes.
    • Database: Oracle, Sybase, MongoDB.
    • Experience in implementing NR scenarios.
    • Developing Micro services.
    • Curiosity for new technologies.
    • Willing to do L1 Support if required.
