About the Position
You will play a key role in building large-scale enterprise systems and digital platforms for financial institutions across Southeast Asia. As a Java Software Engineer (Mid/Senior), you will own backend services, contribute to system design, and help shape engineering best practices. This role offers strong international exposure and the opportunity to mentor engineers while influencing technical direction.
Responsibilities
- Design/Support, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Lead the development of new services and major enhancements to existing systems.
- Define and evolve service design, APIs, and integration approaches.
- Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, performance tuning, and refactoring.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, balancing technical excellence and business needs.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, Analysts, Product Owners, and international teams.
- Support releases, deployments, and post-production analysis.
- Identify technical debt and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and promote DevOps and CI/CD best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience for Mid-level and 8+ years of experience for Senior level in backend or enterprise software development.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful/SOAP API design.
- Solid understanding of microservices, enterprise architecture, and design patterns.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases (Oracle preferred).
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Practical exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong ownership mindset, good English communication, and confidence working with international teams.
- Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable mentoring others.
