Responsibilities

Architecture / Coding

• Planning and implementation of state-of-the-art, distributed systems with Java on the leading cloud platforms
• Technical leadership of the Java Developer Team
• Active participation in the design, review and further development of architectures for Java/cloud projects
• Support and advice in various project phases (pitch, ramp-up) by providing guidelines, best practices and architecture reviews

People Development / Recruiting

• Enablement and mentoring of the Java Developer team to promote expertise and team spirit
• Targeted support for the individual career development of the team
• Recruiting new colleagues

Knowledge exchange / platform development

• Active research & development in search of the latest tech trends
• Helping to shape a growing tech community (structure, process, methods)

Requirements

• Degree in computer science, media informatics, media technology or business informatics or comparable qualification
• Analytical skills, communication and teamwork skills, as well as a high degree of initiative and motivation
• Strong practical experience in the field of backend development:
  • Development of larger distributed applications with the Spring ecosystem or Java EE in the cloud
  • Experience with API design with REST and ideally also GraphQL
  • Extensive knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g. Redis/MongoDb/CosmosDb)
  • Experience in CI/CD (Gitlab/Azure DevOps or similar)
  • Good knowledge of German at B1 level, as well as very good knowledge of English at B2 level
  • Advantageous: existing experience in a lead developer role

Tech-Stack

• Programming languages: Java 11+ (alternatively also Kotlin)
• Frameworks: Spring, Java EE
• Cloud: Azure, GCP, AWS
• Advantageous:
  • Experience with other cloud platforms/edge computing
  • Experience with CloudNative (e.g. Kubernetes)
  • Experience in the DevOps area, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Pulumi)
