Responsibilities

As a Junior Data Scientist, you’ll join the AI Marketplace team. We build and operate the intelligence layer that ensures the marketplace is not only high-performing, but also safe and trustworthy - from neural ranking models in PyTorch to large-scale experimentation infrastructure and full-spectrum Trust & Safety systems, including fraud prevention, abuse detection, and marketplace integrity.

• Building ML solutions that enable a remarkable user experience in the Preply marketplace.
• Contributing to data pipelines that power the team’s ranking and matching models, with support from senior engineers.
• Building and improving offline evaluation tooling and data quality checks.
• Analyzing experiment results to help the team understand model performance and guide future iterations.
• Owning well-scoped components of larger AI projects, with close guidance from senior teammates.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals.
• Hands-on machine learning experience through internships, research, personal projects, or industry work.
• Experience with Python, PyTorch, and GitHub.
• Curiosity, a growth mindset, and the ability to learn quickly from feedback.
• Familiar with AI tools to improve productivity and learning.
• English proficiency at B2 level or above.
