About the Position
We are looking for a Junior Lawyer to join our legal team in Kyiv, Ukraine, and work remotely. The role involves daily legal tasks and supporting the team.
About the Team
The legal team at EVO supports the operations of Prom, Shafa, Kabanchik, and other services within the company, ensuring they develop in compliance with legal requirements and risks. The team includes a Chief Legal Officer, Team Lead, Senior Lawyer, and two Middle Lawyers. We are currently seeking a Junior Lawyer to join our daily legal tasks and strengthen the team.
Our main goal is to provide quick and high-quality legal support for the continuous development of the business. We do not operate on the principle of "it cannot be done." Our approach is to find solutions: understand the business goal and find a legal and safe path to achieve it.
Main Areas of Work
- Legal support for product operations, consulting business teams, and risk assessment of new functionalities
- Drafting, analyzing, and coordinating agreements of any complexity
- Handling complaints and inquiries
- Addressing issues in HR and labor law
- Assisting the Chief Legal Officer with corporate procedures and legal matters of the company
Future Tasks for the Newcomer
- Preparing responses to inquiries from regulatory and law enforcement agencies, processing consumer complaints, and handling intellectual property rights violations
- Managing the internal document flow of the legal team and working with documents in the office
- Preparing and coordinating standard agreements: non-disclosure, service provision, supply, gig contracts, and others
- Analyzing legislation in e-commerce, consumer rights protection, advertising, and personal data, including GDPR and Ukrainian legislation requirements
- Monitoring changes in legislation and court practice, preparing legal news reviews for the team and colleagues
- Preparing draft orders, protocols, decisions of participants, and other corporate documents
- Assisting senior lawyers in preparing lawsuits, responses, and petitions, finding case law, and gathering evidence
- Consulting marketing, sales, logistics, and HR teams on current legal issues
What We Expect
- Higher legal education or final year of study with the ability to work full-time
- English proficiency at the B2 (Upper-Intermediate) level
- Knowledge of civil and corporate law and intellectual property law
- Interest in IT law, e-commerce, intellectual property, and personal data protection
- Attention to detail, responsibility, ability to critically evaluate information, and meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a team and find solutions with colleagues
- Business-oriented approach: understanding business goals and finding legal ways to achieve them while considering legal risks
Plus:
- Internship or work experience of at least 3 months in a law firm or in-house (especially in e-commerce / IT)
- Understanding of the principles of marketplaces, payment systems, and basic GDPR requirements
