About the Position
We are seeking a Junior Security Operations Center Engineer L1 to join our team for monitoring and responding to cybersecurity incidents for a corporate client in a B2B model.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring security events in real-time using SIEM systems and EDR;
- Initial analysis (L1 triage), classification, and criticality assessment of information security incidents;
- Incident registration in the ticket system and escalation to L2/L3 engineers if necessary;
- Working according to prepared incident response instructions and playbooks;
- Communication with clients via email and chat regarding detected suspicious activities;
- Basic collection and analysis of artifacts (file hash verification, phishing email analysis, system log collection).
Requirements
- Upper Intermediate level of written and spoken English (for communication and working with English-language systems);
- Basic knowledge of network technologies (OSI model, TCP/IP stack, DNS, ports, and protocols);
- Understanding of basic cybersecurity concepts (types of cyberattacks, malware, phishing methods);
- Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux OS architecture, understanding the purpose of system logs;
- Education in computer science/cybersecurity (we consider graduates or senior students) or completion of specialized information security courses;
- Attention to detail, perseverance, and a desire to learn quickly;
- Willingness to work on a rotating schedule (8-hour shifts in Kyiv time): from 08:00 to 16:00, from 16:00 to 24:00, from 00:00 to 08:00.
Nice to Have
- Experience in technical support (1st/2nd line) or system administration;
- Theoretical knowledge or minimal practical experience with SIEM systems (Splunk, Elastic, Sentinel, etc.);
- Basic certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Cisco CyberOps Associate, Blue Team Level 1);
- Basic scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) or SQL knowledge.
