About the Position
We are looking for a Junior Software Developer to join our team in Lima, Peru. In this position, you will help build and enhance essential solutions that power core banking operations. Working with cross-functional teams, you will support the delivery of dependable, high-performing applications that align with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Take part in the development and progression of core banking applications that support key business operations
- Carry out corrective, adaptive, and evolutionary maintenance of mission-critical applications with strict high-availability demands
- Investigate and resolve production incidents to reduce the impact on banking activities
- Contribute to functional, integration, and certification testing to safeguard application stability prior to release
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of applicable professional experience in software development or a related area
- Practical background in application development using COBOL on IBM z/OS
- Working knowledge of batch process programming with JCL
- Skill in transactional application development using CICS
- Strong command of IBM Db2 and SQL databases for handling data and executing queries
- Strong written and spoken proficiency in English and Spanish at a B2 level or higher
Nice to Have
- Extended expertise with COBOL for supporting and enhancing legacy business-critical systems
- Wider background with CICS for creating and maintaining transactional applications
- Advanced skills in JCL for automating and coordinating batch processing workflows
- In-depth knowledge of DB2 for tuning database performance and managing large data volumes
