Key Account Manager:in - Public Sector
Job description
About the Position
Key Account Manager:in - Public Sector (f/m/d)
We are looking for an experienced sales professional to strategically expand our e-government business in Austria. In this key role, you will be the face of Fabasoft for key customers in the public sector, including federal states, municipalities, government agencies, as well as government-related companies and organizations. You will play an active role in shaping how secure, sovereign, and future-ready digital public administration is implemented.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnerships: Proactively manage, develop, and strategically expand selected key accounts in the Austrian public sector. Identify business and organizational needs at an early stage and turn them into long-term customer relationships with sustainable growth potential.
- Public Sector Network: Strategically build and maintain your network of relevant decision-makers, IT managers, and specialist departments at federal, state, and local levels, as well as within government-related organizations. Represent Fabasoft confidently at customer meetings, industry conferences, trade fairs, and other industry events.
- Growth Driver: Independently manage complex sales processes – from the initial identification of customer needs through stakeholder management, solution positioning, and tender procedures to successful contract closure.
- Consultative Solution Selling: Position our highly secure e-government solutions and the Fabasoft eGov ecosystem with senior management, IT leadership, specialist departments, and decision-makers. Convince customers not only through product features, but also by demonstrating tangible benefits for public administration modernization, digital sovereignty, process quality, and efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Development, Professional Services, Bid Management, and other internal experts. Actively feed customer feedback, market requirements, and emerging needs into the further development of our solutions.
Requirements
- Expertise: Several years of experience in key account management or enterprise software sales, ideally with a focus on the public sector, government-related organizations, or regulated industries. Experience in selling software solutions in areas such as electronic records (ELAK/eAkte), document management, workflow, specialist applications, ERP, IT service management, cloud, collaboration, or process digitalization is particularly relevant.
- Track Record: Proven track record of successfully selling complex IT or software projects and know how to build, develop, and expand long-term customer relationships in demanding organizations.
- Public Sector Expertise: Understanding of the specific characteristics of public-sector decision-making and procurement processes and know that successful sales in the public sector require trust, patience, in-depth expertise, and strong stakeholder management. Ideally, you also have an established network of relevant decision-makers in public administration and government-related organizations.
- Working Style: Proactive, structured, and results-oriented. Think in terms of accounts, stakeholders, decision-making processes, and long-term market opportunities – not just the next individual deal.
- Languages: Excellent German and very good English skills to communicate professionally, confidently, and with the necessary legal awareness at all levels.
We Offer
- First-class catering (breakfast, coffee, drinks, fruit, and much more) and fantastic team events
- An inspiring work environment with state-of-the-art office standards
- A stress-free commute (generous support for the climate tickets and other annual public transport passes)
- A monthly home office quota
- An above-average salary (approx. EUR 5,500 gross per month based on a 38.5-hour work week, depending on your experience and qualifications, plus a performance-based bonus)
