Key senior expert for German-Chinese Agricultural Cooperation – Project

About the Position

We invite applications from accomplished professionals to lead a strategic initiative aimed at deepening agricultural collaboration between Germany and China. This high-level role will focus on forging sustainable business partnerships, facilitating market entry, and advancing the export of German agricultural products and technologies to China.

Project location: Beijing

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute innovative strategies for cross-border agribusiness partnerships.
• Guide German stakeholders in navigating the Chinese market and regulatory landscape.
• Represent the project in high-level dialogues with public and private sector leaders in both countries.
• Ensure alignment with best practices in trade, compliance, and intercultural engagement.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in agronomy, agricultural economics, international business, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of substantive experience managing large-scale, complex projects, preferably internationally.
• In-depth knowledge of both German and Chinese agricultural industries, including market actors and regulatory frameworks.
• Outstanding English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desirable Assets

• Demonstrated expertise in market analysis, value chain development, and business development in the agribusiness sector.
• Track record in strategic negotiation and building high-level partnerships.
• Professional proficiency in German and/or Mandarin is a significant advantage.
• Ability to lead diverse teams and operate effectively in multicultural environments.
