About the Position

Laboratory Assistant-ARD

We are looking for a dedicated Laboratory Assistant to join our team at SGS, the world's leading testing, inspection, and certification company. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will support laboratory operations by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment.

Responsibilities

• Support laboratory operations by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment.
• Perform custodial, organizational, and preparatory tasks to ensure equipment readiness, supply availability, and overall lab cleanliness.
• Contribute to the accuracy of results, safety of personnel, and team productivity.
• Clean and ensure the availability of laboratory glassware and other reusable items.
• Monitor inventory and restocking consumables, reagents, and supplies to maintain sufficient quantities for the lab staff. Dispose of laboratory waste according to protocols.
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks within the laboratory areas.
• Receive, log, and ensure proper initial storage of incoming samples for future analysis.
• Provide general assistance to laboratory technicians and other staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior experience is required.
• Previous experience in a laboratory, stockroom, or janitorial role is a plus.

• Salary: CAD 19 - CAD 22 per hour
