About the Position
We are seeking a Laboratory Manager with at least 8 years of experience in a medical laboratory, including 4 years in a molecular laboratory, to manage and improve laboratory operations in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Responsibilities
- Professional management of laboratory activities
- Establishment of the laboratory, including equipment acquisition and preparation for operations, and obtaining recognition from the Ministry of Health
- Overall management of laboratory activities, professional consultation regarding laboratory services in coordination with directors of genetics, pathology, oncology, and hemato-oncology institutes
- Development of the laboratory's professional field through the integration of new methods, procedures, and tools, process improvement, and professional training
- Ensuring compliance with Ministry of Health guidelines, quality standards, and the National Quality Guide
Requirements
- Academic education: Master's degree, preferably a Ph.D., in life sciences or laboratory medical sciences
- License: Mandatory license for managing a medical laboratory from the Ministry of Health
- Experience: At least 8 years of experience working in a medical laboratory, including 4 years in a molecular laboratory
- Preferred: Management education/training and managerial experience in a related field/unit/laboratory
- Previous experience: At least 4 years as a senior laboratory worker/laboratory manager
- Knowledge: Familiarity with laboratory computer systems
- Experience: Experience in submitting a laboratory for licensing processes, knowledge of operating advanced genetic sequencing equipment: Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)
- Skills: Proficiency in performing a variety of molecular methods and operating various instruments with an emphasis on advanced sequencing
- Preferred: Experience in molecular virology
- Languages: Proficiency in Hebrew and English
