Lead Art Director

About the Position

We are seeking a Lead Art Director to join our team in London. This role is pivotal in shaping the next iteration of the Pinterest brand, focusing on launching global, culturally relevant, award-winning campaigns with a strong emphasis on concepting and art direction.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop compelling campaign creative from inception to final execution.
• Create memorable films, commercials, and 360° campaigns, including brand partnership work.
• Art direct photography and video shoots, from initial treatments and mood boards through to final selections.
• Enhance the creative quality of work across the team in partnership with marketing, achieving both business results and international recognition.
• Provide meaningful feedback to in-house art directors and designers across various disciplines.
• Represent the creative thinking behind your team’s work to key stakeholders, creative directors, and team members.
• Bring depth to conceptual creative direction, art direction, and design.
• Utilize AI tools thoughtfully to explore more ideas faster and bring concepts to life, while maintaining the craft and quality of the final work.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience as an art director with an emphasis on producing film, commercials, and 360 campaigns (with 3+ of those years in a creative leadership role).
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Visual Communications, Design, Advertising, or equivalent experience.
• A book of work with examples of outstanding creative across a variety of brands.
• Excellent leadership, mentorship, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of inspiring creative teams.
• Strong grasp of art direction and design across a wide variety of formats.
• Proven ability to craft a story or concept that shapes culture, rather than reacting to it.
• Strong presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in simple terms.
• Proven experience art directing on set and managing production partners.
• An accomplished creative leader who can bring out the best work in others and produce exceptionally high-quality work individually.
• An expert collaborator, with deep experience working with writing partners to develop concepts through to execution.
• Hands-on experience using generative AI tools in your art direction process, with strong judgment on originality, brand consistency, rights, and representation.
• Full proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
