About the Position

We are seeking a Lead C++ Engineer with Observability to lead the observability implementation across the software development lifecycle. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, ensuring customer experience, system reliability, and operational insight are measurable and embedded throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience from low-latency trading, market data, or other high-performance distributed systems, with a strong C++ background and a track record of building production monitoring, telemetry, and operational tooling at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead observability implementation across the software development lifecycle
  • Ensure customer experience, system reliability, and operational insight are measurable and embedded
  • Build and operate large-scale monitoring, observability, or control platforms
  • Establish standards and drive adoption of observability best practices
  • Engage with development teams effectively to deliver telemetry and operational tooling
  • Implement metrics, tracing, logging, profiling, and telemetry pipelines
  • Drive customer-experience measurement for latency-sensitive market data systems
  • Influence engineering teams to align on observability outcomes

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in observability engineering, including metrics, tracing, and logging
  • Expertise in profiling and telemetry pipelines
  • Understanding of customer-experience measurement for latency-sensitive market data systems
  • Background in building and operating large-scale monitoring, observability, or control platforms
  • Proficiency in C++ engineering and the ability to engage effectively with development teams
  • Skills in OpenTelemetry, eBPF, and GitOps
  • Competency in API-driven automation and CI/CD-integrated observability practices
  • Familiarity with cloud-native, Kubernetes, and distributed systems architectures
  • Proven ability to influence engineering teams and establish standards
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher

Nice to Have

  • Background in trading or market-making
  • Familiarity with exchange connectivity
  • Knowledge of market data environments
