About the Position
We are seeking a Lead C++ Engineer with Observability to lead the observability implementation across the software development lifecycle. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, ensuring customer experience, system reliability, and operational insight are measurable and embedded throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience from low-latency trading, market data, or other high-performance distributed systems, with a strong C++ background and a track record of building production monitoring, telemetry, and operational tooling at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead observability implementation across the software development lifecycle
- Ensure customer experience, system reliability, and operational insight are measurable and embedded
- Build and operate large-scale monitoring, observability, or control platforms
- Establish standards and drive adoption of observability best practices
- Engage with development teams effectively to deliver telemetry and operational tooling
- Implement metrics, tracing, logging, profiling, and telemetry pipelines
- Drive customer-experience measurement for latency-sensitive market data systems
- Influence engineering teams to align on observability outcomes
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in observability engineering, including metrics, tracing, and logging
- Expertise in profiling and telemetry pipelines
- Understanding of customer-experience measurement for latency-sensitive market data systems
- Background in building and operating large-scale monitoring, observability, or control platforms
- Proficiency in C++ engineering and the ability to engage effectively with development teams
- Skills in OpenTelemetry, eBPF, and GitOps
- Competency in API-driven automation and CI/CD-integrated observability practices
- Familiarity with cloud-native, Kubernetes, and distributed systems architectures
- Proven ability to influence engineering teams and establish standards
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
