GCP Data Platform Architect

About the Position

We're working with a client who is building their data platform from scratch and looking for an experienced Data Platform Engineer or Architect to help shape and deliver it. This is a genuine greenfield opportunity. There's no existing data infrastructure to work around - the team has made a clear technology decision and needs someone to run with it. The architecture is built around a data products approach, with Snowflake running on GCP as the core platform and dbt handling internal data transformation.

Responsibilities

• Stand up the Snowflake environment on GCP
• Define the architecture for how data products are structured and served
• Build the foundations that the wider data engineering work will sit on top of

Requirements

• Strong Snowflake expertise - architecture, configuration, access control, performance
• Comfortable working within GCP (networking, IAM, GCS for staging)
• Experience designing data products or data mesh-style architectures
• Familiarity with dbt as part of the transformation layer
• Clear communicator - this is an English-speaking environment
