About the Position
We are seeking a Lead Engineer/Architect with expertise in AI chatbot/agentic architectures, Python, and Azure services to lead the development of a GenAI-powered voice assistant for shopfloor workers in a manufacturing environment. This role combines hands-on development, solution architecture, and technical leadership, with a focus on building scalable, real-time, AI-powered systems on Microsoft Azure.
Responsibilities

Solution Ownership
- Own and evolve a production-grade GenAI solution
- Improve performance, scalability, and reliability
- Support rollout to additional locations

Hands-On Development
- Build and maintain backend services in Python
- Develop AI features (RAG, agents, real-time processing)
- Implement and extend integrations with enterprise systems

Architecture & Leadership
- Define and guide system architecture
- Make key technical decisions across AI and cloud components
- Ensure scalable, secure Azure-based deployments

Team Collaboration
- Mentor and support engineers
- Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices
- Collaborate closely with product managers and stakeholders

Quality & Delivery
- Ensure high-quality, production-ready code
- Improve observability (logging, monitoring, debugging)
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes
Requirements

Must have
- AI chatbot/agentic architectures (LLMs, Agents, RAG, MCP)
- Python, REST APIs, containerized microservices architectures
- Azure services (AI Search, OpenAI/Foundry, Container Apps, CosmosDB, Log Analytics/Application Insights...)
- Clear and structured communication
- Pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset, constructive collaboration
