Lead Front-end Software Engineer for Home Improvement Retailer

About the Position

We are seeking a remote Lead Front-end Software Engineer for a British home improvement retailer, based in the UK and owned by another major UK retailer, with over 230 stores nationwide. The company specializes in the sale of supplies and materials for homeowners and the building trade, and also offers extensive kitchen and bathroom ranges.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of front-end applications.
• Ensure high-quality, responsive web development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in JavaScript.
• Advanced knowledge of semantic & cross-browser HTML/HTML5.
• Advanced CSS 3.0/SCSS.
• Intermediate JavaScript & advanced jQuery.
• Experience with responsive web development.
• Proficiency with Bootstrap.
• Experience with version control (GIT).
• Familiarity with Gulp/Grunt and NPM.
• Knowledge of Block Markup and BEM.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Familiarity with the E-commerce domain is a plus.
• Previous experience with Handlebars is a plus.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proactive and quick learner.
