Lead Full Stack Development Engineer

About the Position

We are seeking a Lead Full Stack Development Engineer to join our Technology & Operations team at EPAM Systems. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives in a collaborative, high-performance environment and is passionate about building scalable, secure, and innovative solutions to support global investment operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and backend services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions
• Lead architectural decisions and contribute to the technical roadmap
• Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration
• Optimize application performance and scalability
• Mentor junior developers and promote best practices in software development
• Integrate third-party APIs and internal systems securely and efficiently
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives

Requirements

• 4+ years of working experience in software development
• Expertise in Python Core and FastAPI
• Skills in unit testing with Pytest or Jest
• Knowledge of AWS Athena and SQL scripting
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills (B2+)

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or React.js
• Background in AWS services such as RDS, MWAA, ALB, or EC2
• Proficiency in Terraform or Docker
• Capability to use CI/CD tools like GitActions or Git
• Understanding of Agile, Scrum, Jira, or Confluence
