Lead Functional Consultant - SAP MDG

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Lead Functional Consultant - SAP MDG to drive the implementation of SAP MDG for Material and Product data across pilot and multi-country rollouts. In this role, you will lead data model configuration, governance workflows, and data quality initiatives while ensuring seamless integration with S/4HANA and downstream systems.

Responsibilities

• Configure MDG data model, validation rules, reference data, and workflows for pilot scope
• Support design deliverables such as attribute matrix and workflow design, and contribute to functional specs in SolMan
• Execute SIT/UAT, fix defects, and manage transport sequencing for pilot go-live
• Preparation of rollout templates, localization variants, and reuse strategy for subsequent waves
• Provide inputs to DQ rule catalog, monitoring dashboards, and migration mapping
• Maintenance of configuration workbooks, WRICEF specs, and process documentation
• Production of KT materials, troubleshooting guides, and hypercare checklists
• Ensure traceability between requirements, configuration, and test evidence
• Participate in blueprinting, configuration, testing, and cutover for MDG pilot and multi-country rollouts

Requirements

• 8-14 years in SAP with 6+ years focusing on MDG Material domain implementations
• Expertise in SAP MDG 2021+ covering Data Model (MM), DQ rules, and BRFplus-based validations
• Proficiency in UI modeling (FPM) and change request configuration
• Skills in SAP Fiori for MDG, NWBC, and SAP Workflow
• Competency in mass processing, data replication framework, and DRFOUT
• Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager for documentation/testing, ChaRM, and CTS+/gCTS
• Familiarity with SAP MDG integration to S/4HANA (Polaris) and downstream systems via IDocs/APIs
• Background in blueprinting, configuration, testing, and cutover for MDG pilot and multi-country rollouts
